You need the complete 650sx turn plate, bushings and pivot bolt to make it work on a 550 hull. Watcon either used to or still sells a shortened turn plate for the 550 that worked with the stock 550 pivot bolt.
I think you should sell the 38s and manifold and get some sbn 46s to run with the wax manifold. The stock 38s work well on a stockish 701 with the usual bolt ons but once you start porting or anything like that, you'll really want bigger carbs to round out your setup
None of the aftermarket 62t manifolds fit 38s to my knowledge. That said, if you're looking for a dual 38 manifold to trade plus cash for the wax manifold. I have a oem 38 manifold with boysen reeds on it I'd be willing to make a deal with you..
I like to run a separate dedicated line to my head pipe with a line directly overboard on the outlet. I use a piece of 1/4 fuel hose as a restrictor at the pisser fitting. This keeps constant pressure on the headpipe which helps with tuning the screws on the headpipe. I also run freshwater that...
If you're running a thinner .010 base gasket, that will slightly raise compression. The factory gasket is .020. I'm running a .010 gasket in my engine.
I'm running 195psi per hole in my 735 with pump gas. This is with 35cc domes. If you're running 35cc domes you should be fine with pump gas. It's fully ported with all of thr bolt ons and have put 5 seasons on it like that and it's still running excellent.
You'll have to remove the carbs and exhaust. You can use expandable freeze plugs to plug the openings or make a block off plate. Then use a hand held pump like for checking popoff, connect that to the pulse fitting on the engine, pump the engine up to 8-9 psi and let it sit for 10 or so...
you said you rebuilt the engine correct? did you happen to do an air leak after assembly? if not, defintely do an air leak test to verify the engine is sealed up tight. compression test too just to verify both cylinders make even compression. i do both of these on every new engine i assemble as...
I was just about to post that link. That is a killer surf setup. The sv1 is shorter, lighter, and more playful than the sv pro. The pro shines with 900+ ccs and bigger waves. The sv1 will be better for more rec type riding. Not a flatwater ski though. Very similar in length to my 4.3 superfreak.
I'm not sure a superjet tank will fit in a phantom. You might want to verify that. there's 2 phantoms in my group but both have laydown pipes. I'd imagine the hull inserts in the hull are set up for a laydown arrangement already.. the cost of the pipe is about the same as a b pipe with much more...
Thats a good deal. Personally i dont put used engines ib my standups, id for sure go through it. Send the engine to @Jr. And have him work his magic on it. Put some 46s on it, zeel, lay down pipe then you'll have something that will properly push your 155 pump. Definitely flippable off a boat...
I will 2nd that. A 7/12 will be wayyy too much pitch for a 61x. Honestly I wouldn't run a 155 behind a 61x at all. A 144 mag with a 9/15 or 10/16 will be the best setup for your 61x.
