If you cant get a shorter ride plate, another option would be try shortening the handle pole a little which will help get your weight forward to make the ski plane out easier.

Put a decent 61x engine in it stock pipe and sell it. Would make a great first ski for someone

The original carb is a bn 38. You'll need to get a 44 sized intake manifold for the larger carb.
