Have you tried drying out the exhaust at all? Big pin, heavy sit down hull and a 10/16 probably not the best combo. The big pin isn't known for good bottom end power because it has a higher exhaust port timing. Might want to try loosening the pump load a little with either boring the nozzle or...
I would only run an open filter style filter over the oem flame arrestor on a ski that is a race ski. That is the only application that I could see a benefit to running one. They will make a little more power which when youre racing that will matter. On a freestyle or rec ski where water...
It definitely sounds like the pump is too tight for your setup. Obviously there could be other issues as well but a ski with a pump that is too tight can cause several strange issues.
I know you said you rebuilt the carb last year but it sounds like you let it sit with fuel in it for too long and the poopty ethanol fuel we have is highly corrosive and attracts moisture. Probably have some trash in the carb or clogged filter etc.. pull the carb and go through it again. Also...
Only benefit i could see is more impeller choice and not having to seal the shoe everytime you swap impellers. But once you get the impeller right there's no need to swap it.
You'll probably have to do some clearancing to the hull to get the shoe to fit. Pump should bolt up otherwise. And you'll want to double check your driveshaft is the correct length.
You have to keep in mind the hull the engine is going in. Does the pump tunnel flow enough water to properly feed the 155 over the 144 pump? Aftermarket hull designed for that? Absolutely. A stock superjet hull, I highly doubt it. Personally I think you're better off with a 144 or 148 mag in a...
What ski is this in? The pipe is fine with that engine, definitely not your problem. The issue I see is the popoff with the flame arrestor. Remove 2 screens and raise your popoff to 25 psi with a 95g spring. Also, if you're over 2 turns on your high or low speed screws, it's time to go up in...
That looks like a sv pro instead of sv1. The sv1 doesn't have the extended bond rail and it also has a full width ride plate like the v2. The sv1 is also a little narrower and shorter than the pro. Nice ski and a great price.
On the newer zeels they did away with the 10 pin connector which always the source of water intrusion if your ebox leeched water in. Ive had 2 fail and the 10 pin connector was the source. Been running my 3rd zeel for several seasons with no issues as long as your ebox stays sealed.
They're obnoxiously loud and since they're a straight through style box, water easily back flows through your exhaust back into the engine. As far as power difference is concerned, the difference will be minimal.
There were also a few variations of the sv1 to my knowledge. There were a few different lengths if I'm not mistaken. The sv1 is a little lighter than the edge and predator. The sv pro is closer to the predator. I've never personally ridden an edge so I can't comment on how they ride. I've heard...
