$6500 for a jetski??? There was a local guy making custom race boats and selling them with a new trailer for $9000. He stopped making them because there was more demand for fiberglass bathtubs and shower stalls.
A modded "drop in" 144 works better than the stock fx1 pump but not as well as it does in a SJ. Lots of glass work required to get the most from a 144.
The only problem area with Kawasaki pumps is the impeller to shaft seal on aftermarket props. Its easy to get sand in the splines of a Yamaha any time the pump is pulled causing very rapid wear. The Kawasaki is easier if you are picky about maintenance.
How about using a "reliable" OTP chip with a curve and limit that will work well for most skis. I need all the reliability of a stock ignition but with 10 degree retard and 7500 limit.
Your engine may not want to rev enough with "freestyle" porting and a limited pipe. A mod chamber will help raise the rpm and add power. Increasing pump load may extend acceleration but seldom increases low speed thrust, except in an extreme mismatch.
A service is also low quality if its benefit is not stated or measurement of not provided. Speed and weight are the only metric that everyone can easily verify. Everything else is subjective and thats where the prettiest face and best line of BS always win.
