    They do nothing in our watercraft. These engines were designed with other applications in mind, not just watercraft. The anode would have some value if it was submerged in still water.

    The X2 in that video has a lot of trim and power. Moving the rider back and finding a breaking wave will make up for lacking power and trim. Plus the ride is a lot smoother and drier.

    If they only bored the 650cyl then crankcase pressure would be high due to the low transfer ports. Get some new OEM seals and try again, make sure the seals OD and the case is dry.

    It cuts the bending force between the mounts in half in hard water landings and takes out even more on a log jump. Since the new SJ was made for racing I bet that is what they had in mind.

    A Kawasaki engine will fit easier than a Yamaha. You will need a custom tank and muffler. Bond in the engine mounts wherever they need to be. A 650 has a lot of room up front so you can use a muffler, unless you like the redneck ghetto exhaust.

    If it only does it in a tail stand then your popoff is too low for the tank being over the carb. 16psi is awfully low, make sure the tank is fully vented and not holding pressure.

    Go find a leaf blower and learn the basics of carb tuning. Make it fourcycle at full throttle and slowly lean until it runs clean on the pipe. Make sure you have a low pitched prop. Stock flame arestors will probably help.

    I guess the shops can do well with enough advertising hype since this sport has such quick turnover. Buying an engine and having it work as expected is almost a matter of luck. There is always too much pump and carb tuning required to work with the customers existing parts and riding style.
