I got a 89 650 sx an i wanna put a stainless steel prop on it. An body know whats the best brand an pitch that i should use? i Want better pull out of the hole
Skat track has a chart of recommended impeller sizes. You can also speak to a technician when you cal, which I haven't done so I don't know what they will tell you.
I just put in a 9/17 skat and it works fine and my ski is all stock except for a aftermarket waterbox.Only other things I want to do is a pipe and rejet the carb.
I'm wondering if my Skat-trak 15 will give more bottom end w/o significantly impacting my top end than my skat track 10/18, until I can get the 13/18 of course.
My x-2 had a stock straight 15 in it when I got it and it ran ok.I would think that a skat 15 is way better than a stock kawi 15 and should not affect your top end to much.
A Skat 15 is the perfect load for any pump gas 650. Any more load will hurt low speed acceleration. The old straight pitch will vibrate a little out of the hole where cambered blades run smooth. An old Skat 15, 13-16 and 8-16 are about the same. A early 90s Solas KA-SC-A is also excellent. The later Solas KA-SC-I needs to be repitched for 650 use. I have recently found that Solas SXI concords are very low pitched and will be modifying them for my 750/X2 project.
I have an 89 x2 with 185 compression, coffman pipe, single sbn 44 with vortex fame arrestor it has a stainless 15.5 scat i believe that gives excellent excelleration and good top end as well. rippin fast.
