    I was thinking an fx1 conversion would be harder to stay on top of at high speeds with high fixed bars. I was considering a 650sx conversion until I moved the bars back on my x2. It went from a boat that I didnt like to one thats about to get a 750 installed.

    Test the concept by fixing the handle pole with foam blocks and a strap. Then install upright mounted MX bars. This is an easy way find the best height and position of the bars without doing much work or modding the hood. I think an fx1 is too tippy if the bars were high enough to ride...

    Get your self a tachometer, GPS, and five different props. Then get a couple of cylinders with different porting arrangements. Then buy three different pipes. Then spend a few years going through every combination to see what actually works. Buy some extra pistons because you'll be melting them...

    The Kawi conversion is less work than installing a 144 and getting it to work as well as does in a Suprtjet.

    I thought a 15.5 was a little too much, 15.0 accellerates better. There are better props that will run smoother like a Solas ka-sc-a or Skat 13-16, 14-17, or 9-17. I would not pay over $75 for any of these old props.

    It seems that the front cylinder runs hotter on Kawasaki 750s. Most other brands have hot rear cylinders. This is due to fuel mixture and ignition timing, not the amount of cooling. Enlarging the existing single line will work as well as dual lines as long as a stock type head gasket is used...

You may want to leave the heavy stock waterbox/mount in place because they can be hard to ride out of a tail stand without weight up front.     Thats the way all piston engines are. Hot compression seal is less than cold as long as there is oil on the cylinder.

    The fuel mixture will get richer anytime the tank is above the carbs. Its most noticeable with low popoff pressure. Most skis that run clean at 15mph will begin to fourcycle in a tail stand. If the ski fourcycles at 15mph it may get a rich bog in a tailstand. Venting the tank could help or...

    This is one time that the amount of abuse that our motorized toys get is a good thing. Its easy to tell if they have had much use and/or maintenance. For whatever reason many people turn into total scumbags when they are trying to sell something. Motorsports fans are the worlds worst in this regard.
