Here are the pics at the scale, I had it on the hitch hauler so I used a stand to slide it off of the truck and back, first pic we weighed the stand , second pic is the stand and the ski. Now this ski does have a lightweight race and is flat decked, but that weight is with a full tank of gas and a sealed std size battery. So much for 650's being heavy pigs !

274 RTR..wow thats pretty good Terry. I'm impressed.

i like those numbers... im in the process of building my 650sx and im flat decking it and reinforcing the sides... i have an ac racing pole tho so im hoping that will save some pounds...

I could shave off a few more lbs with a small battery and 550 or kart tank,I may try that next year but the front end is plenty light,

And yea that is pretty impressive with the weight of the ski i don't think mine will weigh anything close that, i like the cart tank idea, four gallons of gas is alot unless you plan on going on day long rides anyway

foothold in deck.jpgD- plate.jpgtop of front foothold.jpgfoothold on bench.jpggot some more done on the deck, with the front foot hold and D-cut the stock ride plate. The fun part is going to be turfing this deck

does that d-cut in the ride plate make the world of a difference with the way the ski handles... whats the advantage of this?... i added a 2 in extension to my ride plate and it stopped it from porposing on plane...

i actually got to ride my ski this weekend for the first time since i D-cut the ride plate. The D-cut definitly helps with keeping the front end up on the ski and piviting more on the back of the ski. I the D-cut alot and definitly plan on doing it to my sx750. I would not suggest D-cutting though if you are worried about porposing, although i didn't notice it porposing more since i cut it, but i definitly wouldn't cut the ride plate if you are a rider that likes to rip turns fast and race around, i don't think it would help you at all there

One suggestion I will make and I got this tip from Madscientist, at the back of the hull cut a channel out where the bondline is,that way the water does not deflect off of the hull, this helps the hull lay over more like an X2, if you look on an X2 it is that way from the factory, it does make a huge difference in turning on the ski, mine turns on a dime and I have the d-cut stock plate as well.

Wfo speed racer if you look at the picture of my D-cut plate, i trimed up the back bond line around the pump opening, is that what you mean by triming up the bond line or did you completly cut it off the back

no, remove the entire back lip that hangs down from the bondline. the outer rails will then act like the a/m sponsons that are put on the race skis. then when you lean it over into the turn (on edge) it will hook and help whip the ski around. it will also help in surf riding as well. think of a side fin. the hydrosapce also uses this design in their hull.
