The big difference comes from 38s being able to run much leaner a part throttle and still have good response. This is where most time is spent and where an overly rich mixture affects run time. Much more so than a bigger carb flowing more air/fuel for the short bursts of full throttle.
Getting best response with big carbs (for everyone that constantly blips the throttle) requires having an overly rich pilot/popoff. The fuel flow difference between the cleanest possible setting and best response setting can be 25%. This split narrows with smaller carbs and increases with...
A standard unmodified 44sbn has the best dimensions for general freeride use. Its 43mm plate area and 39mm choke area makes for a strong enough signal to work with small engines yet provides enough flow for good power. There is a lot of Freudian psychology in the jetski world, bigger is always...
Your prop was not installed tight enough. Sometimes lube and debris on the threads will make a prop feel tight before it has hit bottom. There is also some torsional instability within the driveshaft when the pump is out of the water, that is why a lose prop tends to unscrew itself.
You will need the pipe and porting as well as a lower pitch prop for best thrust. Modding the stock waterbox is a waste of time, unless you are looking for attention and like ringing ears.
You are getting way ahead of your situation worrying about getting a Mag pump. First the entire pump inlet and mounting must be correct for whatever is going to be used. Thats where all the work is. You may not get much benefit from a Mag pump in clear water. You will get no benefit from a Mag...
Im just surprised that hulls are still selling for that much knowing what it takes to build one. R&D has already been done, advertising is free between here and youtube. No part of making a hull is beyond the abillities of an indevidual with a small garage. I would chop an existing hull if all I...
