Lanier 07 Buildoff Contender

Hey Garrett, uh you forgot something on the front of the ski..............

oh, bet the wife is loving not having a garage!!!!!!!!!!

The wife isn't happy about the garage, but she has been incredibly understanding about the whole ordeal.
I didn't forget anything in the front. Remember that guy at this fall's Panama City race that did a turn sub into the bottom and tore the front lip off his ski? I seem to remember him getting towed in backwards because his bow eye was gone.
I'm going to do like Butti and others have done. It's getting a stainless bow loop installed under the lip. I think it'll be a cleaner look and probably stronger.

LOL........

Update time. All of the latest work was on the bottom. On the front, I poured some 4lb foam and sculpted it until I had a nice round shape to the nose. This is pretty cosmetic, but it is something that even the roundnose doesn't have. I really like the way it turned out. On the bottom of the hull I added two layers of 1708 knytex. I did this for a couple of reasons. The hull is old and was getting a little thin. I also wanted to do a little reinforcing in that area so I don't pull a Caker. The third reason is that I ride 75% surf so there will be a lot of beaching that I wanted to go ahead and get prepared for. Now I don't have to worry about wearing through the hull.

In the back there are two things going on. I cut and clearanced the little corners for the trim nozzle to have full throw and to be able to turn. I wanted to do a cut-back hull, but I wanted to do it a little different from the standard. I don't like the way that a standard cut-back leaves the ride plate hanging out on it's own in the back and I didn't want to do a radical cut anyway. I decided to go with a corner cut at -3" I think this will make the rear end nice and loose and probably help backflips a little. Basically what I ended up with is the same hull area reduction as a -1.5" cut, but with full support for the ride plate and hopefully better sliding characteristics. I'm going with dual X-Metal scuppers on the back end. Since scuppers don't work very well when they're hanging at an angle, I'm going with a counterbore installation to make them vertical. As you can see in the pic, I've started on one side and you can get the general idea of where I'm going.

I also need to mention that Paul at Lehr Performance Watercraft is building my engine. I'm going with a competition legal big bore flattop setup. This is his fairly standard setup with 62T cases and 61x top end. Paul has been very helpful so far and he's helped me with some ideas that I've bounced off of him.

Good afternoon GDFL. Excuse for English, but I have to you a question. What final collector you will be изпользывать? Whether there is at you its photo, or the drawing?

I will use a Factory B-pipe manifold and head pipe and the chamber is a Factory pipe B-mod chamber for a Blaster.
