Front lip is now done. I used 3 layers of 1708 Knytex. As you can see, the cloth didn't want to lay down so I ended up using staples placed by hand (not the staple gun) to try to get it to lay down. Overall it did pretty well and there are only a few places where the lip isn't flat. I should be able to sand that down just fine. The lip is very strong. I can flex it some, but after I add the top deck portion of the nose and then reinforce from the inside after they are together, I should have no strength issues.
My plans keep changing every time I go out in the garage. I am going to get the nose done first before I do any more work on the tray area, but to finish the nose I have to cut the hood down since the lines will have to match. I still plan on building up and shaping eps foam in order to make a cheapo mold. It's moving a little slower than I would like it to, but for now there's plenty of time to finish.
