i use red. when i remove I use one of those hammer impact thingys so that i don't strip the heads of the screws. better safe than sorry. even if you strip the heads of the screws you can get a pair of vice grips on the screw heads and rotate them off.

Springs are possible with X-metal... i personally have one. I have had mine for about 3 years now (old style)... the powder coating is starting to bubble underneath.

i like leaving my b pipe coupler a little long like the one's pictured. they kinda help keep a cushion between the pipe and the side of the hull.
