Vista and Windows7 does that a lot in my experience, any improper shut down will prompt the computer to reload the drivers on the next reboot, and sometimes not install those drivers properly.
Seems to have gotten better with 7, but happens all the time on my Vista Machine. But after all, 7...
i use red. when i remove I use one of those hammer impact thingys so that i don't strip the heads of the screws. better safe than sorry. even if you strip the heads of the screws you can get a pair of vice grips on the screw heads and rotate them off.
Take a look at my post. I ran this exact same jetting before I ported my cylinder and it ran well. I just had the screws turned in a little more than on the ported cylinder

Springs are possible with X-metal... i personally have one.
