I use springs. I hate stiff poles. I used a stock 750sx pole spring. Makes it pretty much weightless, but doesn't stand straight up when I let go.

My gen 2 or 3 X-metal pole has some corrosion going on under the powder coating. The cancer is spreading. I give it another 6 months until the powder coating starts to chip off. But other than that I love the pole. It took me a while to get it set up with a spring correctly, but now it is solid.

That guy named Fuzzy has a hitch hauler that converts to a beach cart. The pismo people should know who I am talking about. His hitch hauler uses one of the three point receiver hitches. No chance of rocking with that puppy.

Replaced my RN steering cables with an OEM from Parker. still slides like butter. I ride 100% salt.

Ya, you're right. I forgot about that. But besides the different male/female connectors they are compatible. I think I have just spliced and soldered the connection together in a pink before

Maybe I'm not understanding the problem, but you can already use any cdi with any stator. Its just flywheel and stators that must be paired.

I sent every single piece of my electrical system (S/S, ebox, stator, etc) to JSS for a full bullet proofing almost three years ago. It cost some $$$ but was the best investment I have made so far. I have had 100% trouble free electrical and I ride 100% in the surf.

Well I rode a SXR for about 3 years. Modded it, then realized I wanted an SJ pretty bad after riding my buddies a couple of times. I am 5'8" and the SXR just was too big of a boat for me to handle. Just my opinion, sell it and move on. But you might want to to wait until Spring to sell...
