yup do this. it works great. another thing you can do is to first tighten the coupler between the chamber and the waterbox, then pull up on the chamber while tightening the larger coupler between the chamber and the head pipe. After doing both of these and shaving the corer of the bed plate...

yours may have not failed, but i have seem plenty that have. but i have yet to hear of a brap strap style hood system that has failed.

I think he was asking about the vinyl resin b/c he already has a supply of it, not to just ignore the advice of others. I would also want to know if I would be able to use a supply of material I already own rather than purchasing new materials.
