In Va Beach we're supposed to be 100' or 50yds or something offshore, away from objects, away from surfers, and away from each other :bs2: . So yes, jumping waves is illegal here fwiw.

I used to swear by the Protec Ace Spade. Cheap, light, and "sufficient" full face protection. Turns out the face piece is very flexible with the right amount of impact :banghead: . Now I have a Bell Bellistic. I got the wally world Bell for my wife but the face piece doesn't stick out far...

I did em with one person - definitely take the above advice. And I was on a tight schedule and unexpectedly way too low on resin so I used 5200. Don't do this if you want a seamless install w/o a lot of work. :banghead: This is a great thread, btw. Awesome tips.

I can't get the pics to come up. But I didn't get my new chinpad in as expected last week so I modified an old stocker to fit an xmw pole. Only I didn't make a mold and just left it all plastic plus some aluminum backing to get me through the weekend. Short weekend. Word to the wise - cover...
