Set the pop off around 20-25 psi.
It's a small motor. Needs bigger jets to suck the fuel out since the diameter is bigger=less velocity.

It would take a lot of work to get it to contour correctly in one piece stretching heating or whatever they do to apply the material. I wanted to get a hood of mine wrapped by a professional but gave up the idea seeing how I ride my ski way too much for it to last.

If the edge seam gets water under it the whole wrap will rip off from water pressure/friction while riding. Maybe if it was wrapped up the nose above the bond line all the way to the back?
Technically you shouldn't need a primer if your ski is jetted/tuned correctly. I use a small button one under the hood just to flood it out after washing/flushing or when I totally sink my ski and and have to get it going on the beach. It should start up hot or cold no problem without a primer...
Get some dakine x lace straps like tom is running and be done with it... Don't over think it there aren't many options. The x lace are very adjustable and you just have to glass in stainless inserts like the one I was making when you were at his shop that day.
