if yami you can press the midhaft forward while making sure you still have enough spline engagement on the pump shaft.service manual has required info.
on kawi maybe pushing the pump as far as it'll go.
some will add washers behind the couplers for both brands.
out of an abundance of precaution you may want to splurge on the synthetic.
