I am looking to buy another RN SJ. The guy isn't sure if it has an aftermarket handlepole??? no pictures either. He says the handlepole has a drain on it. Seems I remember reading that some do infact have this drain.

Does anyone Know what poles had this.

Thanks, I would like to know before I drive out there to see for myself later tonight.

wamilton used to sell umi poles (i think but not sure of brand) with a scupper valve on the bottom.
might still sell them faik.

AC - I have a Custom Wammer reinforced AC pole with a scupper in the bottom. It's strong as hell too.

Since I built my new ski I had the pole modified again... blasted, shortened 6"s, and repainted. I had the welder who did the work check it out and he said it was solid...

1st pic - what it looked like when i bought it and put it on my old SN
2nd pic - what it looks like now after the shortening and repaint
3rd pic - during the shortening process
4th pic - mounted

I removed the scupper during the mod process and did not put it back in.

Anyway, you can bet if it's an AC Wammer pole it's a good pole. My other RN has a 'normal' AC pole. I had that one shorted as well, the welder said it was flimsy and ended up reinforcing it in spots. So the Wammer one is much better.

Thanks for narrowing it down for me; it must be that pole then. Its not too far of a drive so I think I will check it out today. Sounds like a good deal, but he hasn't sent any pictures yet. I hate driving and not having a clue what I will find.

Frosty - can you talk me through how it was re-welded, I cant get my head around how you re welded the tubes that run down the inside - if you have any dimensions - IE exactly where to cut, it would be appreciated
