race fuel is nice but gets expensive quickly. you may be able to detune it enough to run pump gas however?

if stock reeds are stainless do NOT reverse them as they will break. glass or carbon reeds can wear out faster than steel but won't destroy your engine when they go.

stock boat? not really necessary but won't hurt. remove intake manifold and you'll see the reed cages.pull them off,unscrew the old reeds and install new ones following directions provided.screws holding reeds are small so use a good screwdriver. easy to do.

it's a mod for a 701 square nose.fpp angled them for the old boats to fit the waterbox better. will fit a rn as well and sometimes is desirable depending on the waterbox you're running. dent is for mount clearance.

the washer is held on by impeller onto seal spacer it looks like. odds are when you tighten impeller it forces the washer against the body of pump. wrong assembly stack up in pump hub?spacer needs to slightly protrude more?can shaft be pushed forward a bit more? could explain why impeller was...
