    B1 extra hose

I don't think that nipple actually greases your bearings, only the o-rings in the carrier. Aren't the midshaft bearings sealed?

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

Not sure which manual you're talking about, the mikuni manual can be downloaded and it does cover pop off checking. Its a really good read. http://www.mikuni.com/pdf/sbn_manual.pdf

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

I have the stock 44 carb (singular). What popoff guage did you order? Mine only goes up to 30psi and if memory serves they have you set it at 39psi. I just stuck the spring in there that they suggest and ran it.

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

You don't have to pull the motor, only the gas tank. Tuning is nothing. On mine I followed FPPs recommendations on jets, popoff, and screws and the thing was tuned perfectly, I didn't even have to adjust my screws at all. On the pipe, I have the top and middle screw closed and the bottom out...

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

Low screw only adjusts 0-10% of throttle pull. High screw only adjusts from 90% of throttle and up. Low jet, popoff pressure, High jet is everything in between. So basically you might be missing out on better performance in the 10-90% throttle range. And to address KR's post about you...

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

If you're asking me about the rev limit, then there is no risk of damage by hitting the limit, its there to keep you from damaging anything. The problem on a stock pump FX-1 with a pipe that I ran into was that I hit the rev limit while in the water. A 61X CDI is set to limit at some low rpm...

FX-1 B pipe, its so worth it!

x2 of what Dirk said. Also, if you're running the stock pump, you would benifit alot from an MSD enhancer, or a modified rev limit CDI. My FX-1 just bounced off the rev limiter like crazy when I installed the pipe.

    Wierd midshaft Problem

Wow. Might want to check your pump bearings too. Maybe they got tight which led to that.

    crank bearings

I don't think it was exposed to water. The bearings aren't horrible either. They are just making a slight ammount of noise which I think maybe just from normal wear and tear. The middle bearings sound perfect. The rod bearings look good too.

    crank bearings

I think we can do it. Doesn't sound too bad. WFO, sending a PM.

    crank bearings

My father in law rebuilds transmissions in his garage for a living. He has a press and a splitter. Is it pretty straight forward to install the new ones? Do they just go back onto the crank until they hit a physical limit?

    crank bearings

Thanks for all the replies guys. I got another question. Should changing these bearings be attempted by a noob like me or is this best left to the pros? I would go ahead and buy the Nachi bearings with you but I'm wondering if I'm out of my league.
