XFS Comp DASA 1200 Loads up after spins???

Yea found out what it was in the end When I fitted the stator I measured the depth of the hole and cut the bolts a few mm shorter. The stator did up fine so thought nothing of it. Turns out my billet cases weren’t tapped all the way to the bottom as over time the stator had become slightly...

Which pump?? Maxx 155 vs 160

Cheers for the replay guys. With the 12/19 in the 160 the pump was mega tight, really violent bottom end. Flipped real easy and went big but when landing and gassing it again it was struggling to spin up and really hard to ride. Felt way better at 11/17. I’ll back to back test both pumps when...

Which pump?? Maxx 155 vs 160

The 160 has a long blade skat, and the 155 just a normal. Long blade is ment to perform better from what I’ve been told.

Which pump?? Maxx 155 vs 160

Hi Guys, Have a 2015 new shape XFS comp with dasa 1200 and RRP pipe. Had a max 155 75mm 14 vane with a 9/15 skat thin blade pitched to a 13/19. Worked really well, not huge bottom but pulls really hard in the mid range on combos. Got a Maxx 160 18 vane 83mm hub with a 12/19 thin balde, long...

Can you install conectors on stator wires?

The only down side is if you ride salt, the connectors can corrode and give funny faults. Keep them clean and greased and will be fine.

    Oem drive shaft, Setback, cutback

You can only install a set back drive shaft in a set back pump, they put more water in front of the impeller and load better. This is my setback Maxx 160 fitted to an XFS Comp. Can you see how far back the impeller is in the housing.

    Oem drive shaft, Setback, cutback

OEM is original equipment manufacture’ so say a genuine Yamaha Drive shaft. Set back shafts are longer. They are for after market pumps that have the stator section ‘set back’ further in the pump housing but still use the same mounting points etc if that makes sense.

    Freestyle Extra cylinder cooling

I learnt this a good few years ago and was surprised. We changed a head on a 3516 v16 caterpillar 68litre gas engine. Filled it back up with water and just opened the valves up full bore as we thought they were. The engine should run at 110deg c outlet temp, we had over 120 deg c. Spoke to...

    Pump removal question

Sounds like the pump seal is leaking. Put Silicone on the punp seal and bolt up sticking it to the pump shoe. That’s usually enough then you can still pull pump and leave the seal stuck in place.

Surfriding How to run dual cooling?

I don't usually run a FCV with a b pipe and just stick a 3-4mm restrictor in the line. If using the FCV you need to put the ski against the dock, run the engine with the line from the FCV overboard and adjust the valve so that water starts to flow about 3-4000 rpm.

Surfriding How to run dual cooling?

What hull do you have? Is there a spare hull tube? Providing there is a spare hull tube, you have need a 90deg water fitting on either side of the pump (sometimes you have to rotate the pump 180 deg so that it clears steering cable when fitting) then two hoses from pump to two tubes through the...

Freestyle MAG PUMP, TRIM, AND MIDSHAFT REBUILD NEED HELP

Im pretty sure that the ring you have sat on top of the wear ring is the spacer for the mag pump (it goes the other end). When you fit the OEM yam reduction nozzle there is a gap that ring fills. https://www.blowsion.com/solas-yamaha-pump-spacer

    Modding pfp chamber

Thanks @Christian_83 The outer chamber looks more like the size of the RRP so was thinking it would give similar results. Be interesting to hear your findings.

    Modding pfp chamber

Hi Guys, My mates pfp chamber has cracked and we have been running it wet by just blanking the water ports on the chamber and fitting a water injection to the manifold. Would there be much gain in power if we cut the chamber open and remover the inner chamber then welded back up?

    Squish Band?

If your running a stock head the squish clearance will be huge. If you fit an AM head its much easier to chance base gasket than sending domes off to be machined, and I cant see that raising the cylinder 010' will make a noticeable power loss. Built mine up with a 030' base gasket today and now...

    Squish Band?

Ive just built a 62t 61x for my surf boat. Bored it out to 82 and fitted an ada head and only had 037-039' squish. Jetmanic has the stock 020' thickness then 030', 040' and 050' thickness base gaskets so just got an 030 gasket that should make it 047-049'. I know it will raise the exhaust port...
