Lithium battery in a stock hull???? Trying to get her under 350lbs??

    Deveined exit nozzel

Sometimes without vanes you will get a spiraling jet stream that makes the ski turn slightly at speed. Vanes and a tapered nozzle were the fix. I would leave the vanes and just bore the nozzle.

    Rockered shortened fixsteer sj

" But everyone has opinions and experiences that differ though. Some people have to learn the hard way. Try raising the rear of any boat without providing a sharp water breaking edge and report back. LOL.

    Rockered shortened fixsteer sj

A stock SJ hull has a lot of area behind the center of gravity. Just shortening it gets the nose riding higher and still allows for easy high speed riding. Great mod for surf riding. Rear rocker makes it porpoise horribly at speed so its strictly a mod for backflips.

    FACTORY PIPE DEAL IS ON!

I remember them selling for $359 in 1994. The inflation calculator says that would be $597 today.

Impros Hooker 9/15 vs Solas 13/17

Even the lowest pitched Solas SJ impellers are a little too steep for 701-760s. The Concord small and big hubs are great if pitched down.

Cant find answer on carb tuning

Open the top adjusters until you lose power under full throttle acceleration. Then slowly close them until it pulls hardest. At this point it will be a little rich of peak rpm at top speed, which is safe.

    Re-pitch your impeller thread

Cambered blades prime faster and run smoother than straight blades at low hull speeds. Flatter leading edges dont experience as much flow separation so that a boundary layer can draw water over the top of the blade. This makes a noticeable difference under low speed acceleration. At high speed...

    Re-pitch your impeller thread

Start with a prop that should be close. Raise or lower the trailing edge to adjust load. Generally throttle response is what you are going by, especially on smaller engines. There wont be much difference in top rpm between a perfect prop an one that is a little sluggish getting on the pipe.

    New style PFP chambers

Too light for the stress they endure. They would be a good candidate for composite construction. The cost of production would be much higher though.

    Dual 46 carbs on a 61x motor?

I have done carb changes on a well known 61x case 701. The stock single 44 needed 50% or more throttle to hit the pipe. It turned 6920 rpm at 47MPH. I installed a dual 44 manifold and sbn 44s. These had to run a little richer in the pilot range for best response and would hit the pipe at 40%...

    SX/SXi/SXi Pro My '92 750SX rebuild

If you are using the stock ignition, find a newer CDI. The 92s came with a 3729 which has no timing retard. It is easy to burn a piston if a advance plate is used with this CDI.

    44mm carb questions

The pilot and popoff are very interconnected. Changing popoff will directly affect pilot jet requirement and where the bottom screw needs to be for correct idle mixture. Set the bottom screws on the trailer, close them until the engine races and open until it slows back down. They could end up...

    Prop Id's

Dont know about the E59. The Skat is a 13/16, it is about the same as their later 9-17 which is good. The Solas is a either a 14-19 or 15-20, too tall for most 701s.

    44mm carb questions

I would check the N/S and raise the popoff a notch. I had a square nose that would not want to clean up with an 80g-2.0 and 130 pilot. It was perfect with a 115g spring.

How much top end loss with porting?

"Freestyle" porting is a term from when a Superjet doing a barrel roll was it. With the back flip craze, nobody is trying to get good response from a 701 anymore. The new large engines are using "race" porting for the most power. They get response through displacement, exhaust valves, and...

    Piston wash opinions

The dirty piston has higher combustion temps. It may be normal due to the single carb but old crank seals can also be causing it. All my single carb Kawasakis had a hotter front cylinder.
