exacally what i did. i guess this is one of those "to each his own" things. WFO makes some good points. but also yamaha wouldnt bother with putting them in if it wasnt a good idea.
no i never lubed them, i had put sealant on them thinking it would help seal it (on the O.D.) the last time i put it together i used oems and didnt use any sealer. installed them dry. and they never came out agian. not sure if it was cuz they were oems, or weather or not they were installed dry...
i had problems with my rear seals comin out and finally took the advise to buy oems. installed them dry on the o.d. and never had a problem agian. not sayin a/m ones are bad, but theres somthing to be said about not having to tear down a motor mid summer to replace ANOTHER seal.

i just drilled a hole closer in on the existing nozzle steering arm and it was free. also i used the very outside hole on the steering plate. i had to grind the nozzle so it would steer all the way each way and not bottom out. it has very massive throw to the left (way i turn for a roll or stab)...
