Out on the lake today messing around I went to do a roll and didn't make it all the way around and ended up I landing on the side. I could feel something wrong then thats when I realized my ski was sinking. It sunk FAST at this point I didn't know why I thought I ripped the pole bracket out. Then I realized my WCF hood wasn't on so as the ski is sinking I am trying to recover the hood and get someone to come over. The only part not in the water was the end of the tray thanks to the foam. I blew my whistle and a couple came over when we started to drag the ski I and got me to the ramp where I was able to find what happened. The Hood Latch bent (Look below) and the hood straps BROKE! Once I got it on the trailer I turned in on its side removed the head and hit the starter. I did that a few times but knowing water was still in the lower case but not knowing how much water was in the case. I didn't want to put the head back on and try to start it due to the fear of bending a rod. I got home at 6 motor was out at 7. I tore the motor down clys have a good coat of oil and the crank is sitting in a bath of oil so no rust for me. I am posting this so everyone checks their latch so the same doesn't happen to them. What I am thinking happened is the screw that holds the bar in and keeps it centered came out and then the bar was no longer centered and the force bent the latch. All in all I am lucky no damage happened to my ski other then the latch and the straps. Engine should be fine now and the hull and hood have no damage.
