it drives me absolutely nuts holding up my pole to put on the hood. i have been considering switching out to a UMI pole just so I can have a brand new spring that will hold the pole up high enough to get the hood on.

that old guy I told you about with the dyna foils has the opposite problem with his hulls, the foam over time expands more he says and causes the fiberglass to bubble out.

every single round nose that has been in my possession has done it. Bluegtate got lucky and his only does it very very very slightly.

Even with a plate shorter than 2.5"??? Seems like it just barely clears with a 2.5" x metal plate. But I guess you would just trim more off the cable if you had something even shorter???

you should not need a shorter cable. The distance between the mounting area on upper handle pole mount (where the steering bolts to) and the ball joint on the turn plate is not changing thus no need for a shorter cable... There will just be extra cable inside of the ski instead of up in the pole...

You should list the x-metal as x-metal/atlantic jet sports. X makes them for AJS, just puts a different logo on them.

Looks nice... I like that the stock pipe bolts to that head. I have a pretty similar setup for my Mrs. stock pipe, RN stock pole, etc.
