    Snapped motor mount bolt

This may be a stupid question, but what do you do when you bust that motor mount? Grind the bolt and drill it out? Or will the jbweld break before the mount? ...not that I plan on doing this!

    Snapped motor mount bolt

Anyone know if welding steel to this stainless bolt/nut is fine? I don't have access to a stainless welder unless I take my hull to a welding/machine shop.

    Snapped motor mount bolt

The bolt is in the insert in the hull. I like sjkny's suggestion as it seems the least destructive. I'll try working it back in and out again and hopefully not kill those threads or spin the insert :27:

    Snapped motor mount bolt

I guess there aren't many worse ones to snap. So I have about 3/8 of an inch exposed. I measured out with another bolt and I have about 6.5 turns left and a vice grip won't do it. I have a buddy who says he can grind it down, drill it, and tap it. I've also heard some machine shops can weld...

Haha, I just tried grinding down some to make room for some kevlar bling and gave up. It ain't worth it. And don't worry - you won't mess up. Just get all the air bubbles and excess resin out between layers. You'll be fine. To top it off, I snapped a bolt in my motor mount when I was...

    where is this sport going?

I'd like to see the sport grow (especially in my area!) mostly so we can all feed off each other. A bonus would be to always have someone to ride with so I'm not sitting at home on going stir crazy on decent riding days. I think being a role model to the younger generations is great too. It...

    Motorcycle-superstore.com

I ordered some ankle braces last week that are still on back order. I called up to add a wrist brace and took a shot in the dark by asking the rep, Tory, to price match parkeryamaha. Wow saved $5! I added two so I could get the $100 total for free shipping but it only came out to $98. Tory...

    ? on adjusting my carbs

You know the 05's and 06's have "tamper proof" plugs? I have some pics at the bottom of here -> http://www.wavejunkies.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=11 . They worked great for when Magoo told me exactly where to set them but they can't be adjusted when installed unless you cut the channels...
