    SXR newb modifications

I don't have any good pics handy but we just put on a Dale's pole last weekend. It was a piece of cake and only $650 or so w/stock bars, steering, and mount.

    Surf Stance... Pros & Cons

I thought that was the only way . Hmmm... I roll to the left and set up the strap for regular foot so I might just have to give it a shot. Man I cannot WAIT for my parts to come in! :Banane01:

    Slogan discussion

It was originally announced at the Daytona ride as "By the riders, for the riders." That's my vote - #10 minus 'free'.

Jacked Up Hood Hook Brackets ??????

I had a buddy of mine weld some 1/8" ss in my hood clips - $7 for 2"x24"x.128" . I think it was the mig welder that made them turn out ugly but they are definitely functional. I don't know about them tearing up the hood but if you are that aggressive it might be time to reinforce the hood too.

    Surf Stance... Pros & Cons

Sorry I have no experience to advise from, I just copied your idea. Hopefully I'm just another two or three weeks from trying it out. Maybe an aluminum plate stuck to the front and rear of the tray with a couple tapped holes and use bolts with wing nuts or thumb screws welded for quick...

    5200 on Footholds

Thicken some fast hardening epoxy with some silica filler. Get your garage above 55 and it'll cure within a couple hours. If you have any gaps between your footwells and tray, fill will body filler before you glass to reduce air pockets. Of course throw some rivets/screws and grinding in...

    Hood Gasket glue.

Thanks for all the input guys. How much work time do I have with the superglue? And will it adhere okay to painted rock-hard schwag? And should I set a hood on top for a little weight or is that bad? If it peels off, you should probably use something else  If it starts to rip, it...

    Hood Gasket glue.

I'm planning on using the 3m weather stripping adhesive on my new oem seal. Do you need to weigh down the seal with an unlatched hood as it bonds (assuming no goop sticks is leaking around the edges) or just kind of smush it in place? Also, I still had some bits and pieces of old glue around...

Surf ride at Jacksonville this sunday?

Torr, you can grab from Studio or WMP using a simple alt-prntscrn. If you are on a laptop, you might need to do alt-fn-prntscrn. I just did this out of windows media player and then cleaned/cropped in photoshop. edit: make sure you have the video open in 100% view or less when you screen grab

    Carbon Fiber

That's what I used around my footwells in my previous pics. They were supposed to be orange/black but it was more of a red :dunno:. I couldn't keep a straight line at the time but maybe if I tried the tape method...

Finally got my Christmas Present - now about those '05 carbs

I specifically asked him about experiences I have heard about with the knobs coming out and he (and others) say it is more a matter of spring tension :dunno:. In my personal experience, mine turned out tight as poop. I would be very surprised if they loosen but I will definitely keep a...

Finally got my Christmas Present - now about those '05 carbs

He did my 05's too. Like Matt said, you could just yank out the brass plugs and adjust them out of the hull. I elected for the knobs so I could tune at the ramp. I hadn't heard of any difference in the years due to emissions. John can work a couple other tricks on them while he has them too...
