what will make the top deck look really good is to take some fine grit sand paper (1000 grit or similar) and sand the gel coat... Then use machine polish then a wax to seal it all back up. Will make the top deck look almost brand new again. bluegtate did that long time ago to fadded blue ski...

so all the pretty work to leave the front dash???

the distance forward is practically negligible. I think it is more of a preference on how you like your wrists positioned.

I didn't mean to say that is is not possible to add a shim if you really want to, but it was just not intended by yamaha to do so. there are pins on superjet wear rings (atleast 95% of the ones I have touched)... best pic i could find, but the right mounting leg should also have a pin, but was...

you can't really add shims to the front even if you wanted to, b/c there are dowel pins in the on the front pump mounting legs that stick up into the ski that inhibit side to side adjustment. the shims would interfere with these dowel pins.

on x-metal style brackets (x-metal, wamiltons, snowxr, etc) you can run a spring... so if you desire that type of bracket and wish to run a spring, don't let the first appearance of not being able to run a spring detour you. I modded a 750/800 style spring to run on my setup and it has worked great.

good review... i too vouch for choosing a hooker over other impellers. I went from a solas concord 13/16 -3mm to a 9/15 hooker. I felt I lost a little bit of top end, but who needs it anyways??? Whitewater hookup in the surf was vastly improved.

i have never seen a head pipe with that spigot on the inside like the one you have there that has the larger diameter.

in order to get a true reading on the center of the shaft in the circle all the pump bolts need to snug. if any are loose your really not giving yourself accurate information.

i liked my six six one helmet also... but the rivets they used to hold the chin straps rusted out. helmet only lasted about 1 year. keep in mind I ride salt water.

i had massive trouble shimming my square. i think the pump mounting area just warps over the years. yours looks to be a little off to one side also, which was my problem, but mine was WAY off to one side. engine compartment looks good. what did you paint it with?

when i did my last turf job, i sanded the 25mm padding down around the stern bushing...

on mine i have installed after the "T" i can still tell its working b/c at low RPM's there is a constant stream of water leaving the pisser and at higher RPM's it more sputters out.
