That might not be your problem. You should be able to run with that vent missing (ie no pressure control in your tank). It's only job is to not let gas/vapors escape the gas tank. But it will allow air in... at least that's what I think.

The SX-R is like 4 inches longer and 2 inches wider.

Looks like it is just taking up space where the oil injection used to be.

The 701 has a 68mm stroke.

That's a really old school impeller. You can do better for not much more money than it costs to fix that one.
