Maybe the kill switch. Turn the idle speed down to where it dies in the water, disconnect the kill switch connector (white & black wires) & test ride.

Going by memory here - didn't a previous thread say something like $600?

That looks more like grease than 2 stroke oil. It's good practice to lube the seals, most use 2 stroke oil, but maybe grease was used & the excess on the outside flung off.

Sort of on subject, does someone make pistons larger than 86mm (for a big bore already at 86mm)? If so, how big could a resleeved 61X be punched out?

No need, use a laser 3D scanner.

Yeah, those tight virgin seals are tough to compress too!:biggrin:
