I have read that some peeps do encounter problems, probably in the surf. I just have a 1.2 seat inline w/the stinger - it keeps the waterbox pretty dry & there's no moving parts....:sneaky:

I don't think it would work on a twin (too much surface area), but the old air cooled Husqvarna dirt bikes came from the factory w/NO head gasket - the heads were lapped to the cylinders. Of course, they needed to be re-lapped every now & then....:rolleyes:

In the past I've always plumbed warm water off the head into the bars & drilled a series of holes in the grips, so water flows out to warm the underside of your hands. This has proven effective, but will take more time than I have before tomorrow's ride. Instead, I'm looking for a quickie...

Just talked to Paul, by the time I buy the kit & inserts it'll be a wash cost wise as compared to having him do it. :sneaky:

I have a used cylinder where all the head bolt holes have been helicoiled, and some are rotating when I go to tighten or remove the bolts.:banghead: What's the best insert to replace these (remember the holes are tapped for helicoils already). Timecerts? Who has the best price on a kit...

I'm sure they're under tremendous pressure, but travel is limited by the cylinder wall. There was only a few thousandths of an inch of daylight showing, and I only applied maybe 7 pounds (those things are sharp edged!) of pressure. I'll give Paul a buzz & see what he says though. I plan to...

It has new pistons & rings. The problem was a slightly bent top ring; the last 1/2 inch from the end on one side had a little daylight showing. I tweaked it with my fingers, problem solved.:cool2:

That must be a big contributor to the power...
