Crank seals wear, which can also cause a lean condition. I'd definately do a leak test. Use the search feature; there are several threads detailing how to do it.:biggthumpup:

From the piston wash both cylinders are lean. I'd fix that before I put a new top end on. Definately do a leak down test.

I agree on 30 seconds for a plug chop (if you can hang on that long!:bigeyes: ), but for piston wash I'd imagine it'd be much longer. Weather looks crappy for the weekend so maybe I'll check top end jetting now that the bottom is good (stronger than ever!:Banane01: ).

Plug color is almost identical after just riding, no plug chops. If you're way too rich it will leave the piston top clean.

Question for the tuners - How long does it take after a jetting change for the piston wash pattern to reflect the new mixture? And do you check wash paterns like a plug chop at full throttle? Does the wash represent full throttle mixture, or just an overall average? Finally, the jetting on...

So can the Inferno operate several water injection solenoids like the Jetworks, at different programmable RPM and pulsewidth? That would be very sweet. You are bringing one to Daytona right? Maybe I could get lucky w/the goodie raffle....:sneaky:

Yes, Paul massaged it after RIVA. He described the RIVA work as a mild race porting.:rolleyes: I measured the distance down from the top of the cylinder to the top of the exhaust & it was raised about 1.2mm from stock. So yeah, Paul couldn't put metal back on... So I guess I'll have to look...

OK, these see like good ideas. I've also thought about an AM lightweight flywheel. Didn't RIVA have some RADs in stock now? In order of most bang for the buck (and salt water reliability), which should I do first? Flywheel, pipe mods, ignition?:thinkerg:

Water depth is also an important factor. If you're jumping/landing in waist deep water you have to be very careful to land almost flat, & nail the gas the instant the pump is submerged to reduce landing depth. This frequently involves lifting up with your feet. Something to keep in mind for...
