I'm assembling a motor from some parts lying around. I have a big bore 61x 760 with a mild groupk race port on a clearanced 62t bottom. I have a single 46 blackjack carb but no intake manifold yet. Might this setup work okay together with a bpipe?
The alternative would be to convert two...
Sweet! The air/water temps this past year were maybe 70+/65+ so a 3:2 full suit or less will do.
Cubo Ricans will not be privy to sand bars locations... :1244:
What in the world? The first recommendation varies depending how much your current weight is. I'm only ten pounds away from my ideal weight but won't *meet* my ideal weight for another 20lbs :banghead:. The second recommendation is a range of 40lbs....
Thanks for the replies. I gotta try and get access to some tools to double check clearance again. Buying a "running, recently rebuilt" used motor was supposed to be easy. :banghead:
pretty sure they are yamaha pistons. might be wiseco's. motor is stock other than the first two bores. Yeah I know it should be .016 max, I'm just hoping .018 ain't that bad.
...Or just a little too much gap for brand new rings - the old ones had .025. If .018 is a lot too much gap, am I looking at boring up a size? It seems like my piston clearance was fine but I guess I better double check that too :banghead:
i think fpp told me those holes were 3/64. I didn't have a bit that size but used a long sewing needle and hammered it in. never could get the mid or bottom opened :irked:
If you need to get a new head gasket anyway, get a base gasket while you are at it after you check out the rings with a proper feeler gauge and inspect the grooves.
Pages 5-11 thru 5-13 of the service manual discuss inspecting the pistons and all. Somebody just recently posted a link to...
It's a knock off. No soup for you! :haha:
j/k I was wrenching on a WRIII last night and the four long bolts went through the wear ring and into the pump shoe assembly. Didn't strip it far enough down to see if the wear ring holes were threaded or not though. :dunno:
The last three motors I've seen with that low of compression either had stuck or improperly gapped piston rings. They should be gapped at .012. I think +/- .004 is okay but don't quote me on that.
S'all good. David got one to finish up with today and I'm good for the next couple days at least. Your boy Convict is looking for some turf help but I told him you got the hookup
Yeah anyone got any tips for cleaning up the yellow in his gelcoat? You can't see it in the pics but there is a very noticeable difference between the hull and the hood and where stickers were on the hull. I tried two different swirl remover rubbing compounds and a waffle-type foam pad on a...
It does look like a big turd.
You are slower at turfing than me :hitwithrock: I never realized how much I use my heat gun and how much my hair dryer sucks until this past week. I gave up on Dave's ski last night but my arm rest turned out okay
135 is pretty low. I bought a supposedly running and freshly rebuilt motor from SJK and it only had 135 on it. Turned out the piston ring gaps were twice what they should be, the jugs/pistons were all scored up, and there was no base gasket. Some guys say 135 isn't that bad but I'd check out...
