    A tubbie WTF

I did it slut's way for the most part too. Just haven't had more than an hour of ride time to put it to the test  Rattle canned below the rail. You rarely see the bottom part so just peel off the tubbie, sand it all down, install it correctly, and spray it.

    Reed Spacers

I had to get one to allow my flame arrestors to clear my head. The one I have goes around the cages so they are still the same distance from the manifold. Couldn't say if it helped performance or not, it's only been in the water for an hour and they're new/different carbs.

Another 'tracking down an air leak' thread

Windex bubbled when i sprayed it on the leaky brass fitting but maybe cuz it was leaking worse. I'll try dish soap. I had a brand new gasket in there and replaced it with a brand new gasket. Another thought is I could block off just before the manifold. That'll test the gasket and test...

Another 'tracking down an air leak' thread

Exhaust. Good point but now that you mention it, I guess it can't be leaking into the cooling system because I had pressurized that first and found out the fitting on my manifold was stripped out and leaking. That part is fixed but I'll check it again...

Another 'tracking down an air leak' thread

Really I just need a sanity check here. Windex is not bubbling up anywhere but it sounds like the leak is coming from the middle bottom of the fp manifold - maybe leaking into the water jacket I guess. Both surfaces are clean, there are no obvious cracks, the gasket is new, and I have...

Stab into 5ft of h2o=broken stuff

Nope, just got done doing three of these recently. Both couplers are regular thread and tighten each other under load as the motor turns. The load on the prop is effectively reverse and so are the threads. I'm pretty sure anyways.... Haha good luck swinging both ways this weekend :crutches:

    Reinforcement causing cracks?

Yeah it's an 05. I'd laid a strip of biax about 4" wide right there on the inside too. The crack might actually be directly behind it. Anyways, I got a nice 11"x10" patch on the bottom now

    Reinforcement causing cracks?

I've had all sorts of stress cracks right there at the bulkhead in an hour glass pattern for a year and a half since my first month of riding. I found out last weekend I needed to refoam anyway so I've reinforced the rear just in case :skull2: Also discovered a hairline crack this winter on...

    dont ever let go

Nah man but that was the first thing I checked when I got my bearings. I can't imagine if I hadn't been wearing a full-face helmet... Did the same thing as Jerry on a blaster but came out of the straps way earlier (and had plenty of time to let go in retrospect....) :banghead:

    Butch Musick ........ Nikad

Butch has been good to me when I had a problem with a deal too. But in Convict's defense, 3-4 weeks is pretty ridiculous and Butch has been active online so the busy excuse only goes so far. Convict had saved $$ for a couple weeks to get this stator from nikad, just as it took him a couple...

    -2007- Virginia Beach 2007!

BS should have the answers you are looking for. I'm not sure what they're working out for launching/recovering yet, but we wouldn't be having an event if we couldn't beach that weekend

    -2007- Virginia Beach 2007!

We don't know yet exactly where the defined ride zone will be for the event. Most likely a couple blocks north of the inlet. You can see a bunch of tents and whatnot where they usually allow various events. BS is working daily on trying to firm down all the details :fing02: That'd be...
