.060 base gasket is the way to go for low end and good port timing...then shave your head whatever you'd like....and/or deck your cylinder a hair.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a bad coil or stator. Ive had one of my SXR's run extremely funky when the stator took a crap. However, with the water appearing in the wrong spots, I might think you have a cracked cylinder.....it may be hard to see the cracks but its not impossible.

I dont like running without a spring either. I didn't on my superjet....it doesn't feel right.

Itll cost you about 1200 all said and done if you start out with a stock pole setup and have to buy a chin pad, umi steering, etc. If you switch from a UMI....it'll cost you $800 for the pole, and you just swap all the other stuff out. That rubber pad comes out.

The front cylinders tend to be the ones to go first when running the dry pipe. I believe it is too hot and then your piston starts to stick, causing problems, also there may be a need to add more fuel. Are you running single or dual cooling? What is your water setup like right now?

Easiest thing to do. Instead of buying a spring tensioner, get a block of aluminum the same height, and drill 2 holes in it. zip tie it around the rubber boot over th bottom of your stock kawi spring, you can rotate the block to keep tension on th pole or take it off so you pole isnt always...
