As an FYI the finger throttles on Kawi couches like the ZXI and Ultra have an adjustable governor built in. You might be able to use one of those on whatever you decide on.

the black wire that goes to the stator is the ground for the ebox. that is probably the one you saw, stator is under the flywheel. the stator is attached to the block. the block has the big negative battery cable attached near the starter.
