Hey guys/gals, I'm trying to get the most top end speed out of my 1989 Kawasaki 650SX and i'm looking for some expert advice on anything i might be missing but here's what i got:

-Full Coffman Exhaust System
-44mm Keihin Carb w/ v-stack
-Boyesen Power Reeds
-West Coast Intake Man.
-Ported & Polished Exhaust Man.
-Ported & Polished Jug & Crankcase
-West Coast High Comp. Cyl. Head
-Wiseco Domed Pistons
-Jetlyne Stainless Steel Impeller 16 Pitch
-Westcoast Intake Grate
-Westcoast Ext. Ride Plate
-PJS Steering/Pump Nozzle (Polished)
-Polished Jet Pump Housing
-Removed Oil Pump & Installed Block Off Plate
-Removed Crankcase Water Drain & Installed Block Off Plate

I think this covers all mods done so far. If anyone has anything to throw out there, I would love to hear any thoughts or ideas to get a few more h/p & mph out of this thing. My goal is to get 55mph top speed from this ski (w/ wind & water conditions in my favor). I was trying to think of anything i could do with the haul, but no ideas yet. Also, playing with shimming the ride plate for best trim and minimize pump cavitation. I was wondering about the Aquavein, does anybody have any feedback on that? Seems like it would be better for low to midrange hook up (too much drag for high end).

your CDI is going to hold you back with the built in rev limiter. other than that you got a good setup. Dales use to do a mod, or you can find a 1986 CDI, I believe this one has a higher rev limiter setting, I just remember something about the CDI's changing in 1988 or so.

86 X2 coil has no rev limiter. dual carbs are going to rev higher than a single. i had a couple 52mph x2s back in the day. both had dual 38 carbs. top loader grate loses you about 1 mph top speed.
