Hulls load material primarily in bending. Bending strength can be increased without adding weight through the use of cored panels or a network of stringers. Balsa is the most efficient core but susceptible to rot over time. Rohacell and PVC foam wont rot but is more expensive and has less...
Look at the numbers on the CDI, 3729 is not desirable but I did run one for ten years with out problems. Find a 3733, 3734, or 3735. A 3738 has higher rev limits that you wont need. Carefully check the ignition timing. You want to see the timing retard to 15-16 degrees at high rpm for pump gas use.
A 650sx is equivalent to a shortened Superjet with regard to the center of gravity and planing area. It will still take a lot of power or a wave to backflip a full length hull. If your nitrous system works well, a larger pump/inlet will be needed for good thrust at low speeds.
Considering your height/weight, make sure the factory nozzle wedge is in place and get an extended ride plate. Hull extensions are hard to find but wonderful for big riders. The old 750 is best for carving edge to edge and they are soft landing wake jumpers. Going fast will take practice because...
That is a Yamaha manifold with a Kawasaki pipe. It will fit the engine but not a SJ hull. A Sizzler appears shorter and its tail cone is aimed lower. A Sizzler or old Protec 650 pipes work very well on 701s but their tuning is shorter so make sure to get a low pitched prop.
Very few people are, that is why there are so many rusty cranks out there. Run it until the head gets over 150 or until the thermo switch kicks in. This takes over 10 seconds at wide open throttle with a stock rev limit. It will get hot faster at part throttle and will also tend to diesel so...
You have too much prop for that 62T cyl. Use a milled stock head for bores larger than 82mm or else you need to be very careful in making sure the westcoast domes are centered.
I guess you can make a big deal out of anything. I had a 75 year old aircraft designer plan a backflip hull. It took all of 30 minutes, with a slide rule, to get a basic dimension that is very close to the newest Japanese hulls. That was six years ago, I could have had that same drawing 40 years...
