My 07 4x4 4 cyl Taco gets 23mpg with an sj on the bed and an xl800 behind it. It actualy gets better milage with the sj in the bed. My old civic hatch would get over 30 no matter what and about 38 on long trips without a trailer. I towed an 800lb uhaul fully loaded with crap and had the car...
I don't want to get in a pissing match but the SXI is about 2 mph faster than an sxr. The new sj is more nimble, its narrower and is not as stable as the old sj and it feels lighter. I know cus I have one in my garage. It's faster for more reasons than just the prop. Bottom line is the 08 kicks...
barwani,
Where do you live? You need to find someone who has an 08 and ride it. That is the only way you are going to get a true feel for the boat. My buddy has ridden maybe an hour and a half total on stand up. On my hopped up square with tubbies he could just about turn around in the full...
To run a single carb on T cases is pointless IMO. If your hell bent on the 62t cases pick up a set of 38's on ebay. If you want to run a single carb get 61x or 6m6 cases with stock reeds and run them with a stock 44. Spend the money you save on t cases, a special carb, and that fancy manifold...
Get rid of the visibility spout with some 3/8" vacuum caps from pep-boys. You can cut the 2 bars out the center like you said. Pro-Tec has their open grates on sale for $15. Some also take out 2 screens from the flame arrestors. Get some ODI grips from a moutain bike store.
The adjustable steering is on the turn plate. You can make it even slower than stock.
These guys make an adjustable bracket

I am going to wait until TBM comes out with stuff before I go buying one. The pump area is so different, I think alot of grates would fit but they wouldn't work well. The 2008's slide but you have to be going fast.
If you put an old superjet cable on the new superjet you will get more throw but you will not be able to turn left. The only way to get more throw without getting the old cable & pole is to change the possition on the nozzle.
Does the x metal Plate have more throw from stop to stop? If it does it won't hit the stops and willl rack up the cable as the steering and cable are already maxxed out. The nozzle is the only way to get more throw without a new handpole and cable.
blowsion
I like the blowsion one alot. The squared offed edges make it easy to grip and the fit and finish is second to none. The only issue I found is that it needs to have the cable screwed all the way out.
