quick tips for 08 superjet

im new to this freestyle world ..i just bought a superjet which i love comapared to my kawi sxi..s i would like to know what mods i can do cheap or free by doing myself to enhance the ski.i have saw something about cutting the two bars inside the intake grate .........and reinforcing does that mean welding sidws to make stronger

Check out the Tech FAQ for mods to Superjets. (Very first stickied thread) Almost everything that's for earlier Superjets will apply to yours.
You can do the steering nozzle mod to increase steering throw a bit. (Search for that mod).
You can block off the front holes in the hood to limit the water coming into the bilge.
IMHO it's useless to cut up the stock intake grate, just buy an aftermarket one. The stock grate is junk.
Reinforcing means adding fiberglass or carbon or kevlar, with resin, to the ski to make it stronger.

Get rid of the visibility spout with some 3/8" vacuum caps from pep-boys. You can cut the 2 bars out the center like you said. Pro-Tec has their open grates on sale for $15. Some also take out 2 screens from the flame arrestors. Get some ODI grips from a moutain bike store.

My paint on my new ski is very cheesy,you run your fingernail across it and it makes a scrath.They didnt put clearcoat on the paint.

Ah....it's gelcoat.
From my limited understanding, gelcoat doesn't get/need clearcoat. It's been that way for a while.
