I just finished breaking in my 2008 superjet and I checked the compression with my cheap gauge and got 180psi cold in both holes. Now this gauge read 145 psi on my ported (61x raised to 62t height) motor with a protec limited head. It also read 140-150 on a bunch of stock motors and 185 on a 61x...
Rode again yesterday, there is alot more spray on the 08's. About the steering, with the setback pump it feels like the steering has more leverage over the ski. At low speeds you realy have mash the throttle to make tight turns where as with the old sj you could just kind of ease into it.
I see what your getting at. Why not a variable exit nozzle to that opens up as you squeeze the lever. That way you could get the revs up at low speeds or pull it quick to "clutch" it up. You could probably get the same effect by having a bypass valve before the exit nozzle so you could reduce...
You need an older style handle pole too. The distance between where the steering plate mount and where the cable mounts is shorter, if you put the old cable on the fx1/2008 pole you won't be able to turn left. I think the best bet for more throw is going to be at the nozzle end. Pro-tec & Riva...
It would be super easy to modify the nozzle for more throw and I don't think the cable would hit the pump but you might have to grind the nozzle. The turnplate has another hole that is farther out but the manual says not to use it. I had problems with my fx1 pole/cable on my square nose eating...
He said he refunded it to my credit card Friday. If it doesn't show up in my account this week I am going to be furious as I put that $500 on that card for my new ski and I don't want to pay interest on it. Talking with the guy from Hamilton he said that the other dealer never ordered the ski...
Its alot different than the old round nose and alot diff than an sj with tubbies. Riding around it feels kind of like an fx1 that doesn't porpose and has killer hookup. It carves hard and doesn't have that feeling like you get with tubbies like they are grabbing the water. The nose stays up...
I was quoted at $7080 from two places. Thats registered and ready to ride. I bought mine in Jersey so I didn't pay taxes or register it yet, it was $6530.
Picked it up today and went riding with Adet. It is a blast to ride. I was surprised at how much power it had for a stock ski and the hook up is unreal. Zero cavitation unlike the older aluminum props. It is alot more predictable than a ski with tubbies and it is alot more nimble than the old...
I keep getting jerked around. The dealer told me he had one in CT...... but in order to get it he had to take a left over 07 with it. I might get this one in Jersey if he can't give me a delivery date. This is such a PITA for me, 2 years ago I waited 3 months for my motor to be assembled when...
Has any one tried mouting these so that they will release if you wreck hard? I want to install a set on my ski but don't want to end up with torn ligaments in my knees or ankles. McMaster sells stainless snaps, they even have self tapping/drillling ones. These would make the install easy and all...
