Pretty much, Not a fan of the loud obnoxious skis that spit it out the front. Some of the middle aged yamaha's dumped it into the pump cavity. I know it will be dirty... This motor will be loud.
I would like to 90 it into the pump cavity... My pipe twisted when they attempted to bend it... I want a non corrosive, non clamped replacement.... what do you use...
More progress today... I trimmed my foothold section to drop it down a bit (based on newer ski designs and guys not foaming there to get lower) I also cleaned all the pipe fittings and removed them with the intention of re sealing them... When I pulled the midshaft I found the pipe was broke...
I took some mesurements. When I started the tray was 32 inches front to back. Now the tray is 27 and 3/8 where I plan to rebuild it in the back. I measured the bottom and I cut 4 inches off the bottom... Did some more defoaming today. What a nightmare.
Here are some more pics of the...
I cut it to where I would have 2 bolts holding on the ride plate and its squared off back there. As for the top I took about 4 inches out of it... I also shifted my motor back an inch. Going to start defoam tomorrow. Being unemployed is kinda nice for a while...
ha ha I am no where near a fiberglass god, My mad glassing skills is part of the reason for it being torn apart right now, The thing weighed 350 plus with motor after my last glassing try.... I have some friends that are decent at it but would rather use something else.. I saw the thread...
3 years ago I reinforced the engine compartment and added footholds. About 3 months later I bought an 09 and turned the SN into a yard ornament. Over the last few months I have got cabin fever and seen quite a few builds that interested me so I am getting on the bandwagon with a big bang for...
Thanks for the insight, I am confident enough to move to the next step and find the vertical mounts for the motor so I can get the exhaust lined up correctly.
No responses huh... It seems to be just like the half pipe that went on the old 550's just alot bigger.... Factory halp pipe...

Ive never ridden a hx but they look fun but so does the 89 yamaha with the goofy pole up front for that matter... think it had a 500? That thing might be alot of fun with a 701 or bigger motor... Then again, anything is more fun with a bigger motor....
I have the old square thats gonna get some love this winter and for grins I thought I would just drop the 787 to see how it fit. The shaft is about an inch too high... I guess you could get around it if you were dead set on doing it but it seems this motor weighs soooo much for 110 hp there...
I took a dremmel to the turn nozzle and also grinded the crap out of a old chin pad I had so it would clear up top and down below. Holy crap does it make a hell of a difference from the inside to the outside! It just takes 2 people and some time...
