Most cases nothing else is damaged. Just spews water into the hull. You might even just V grind the cracks and JB Weld them up. You're only talking about maybe 15psi water pressure in the system.

Many times. That's a claassic sand plugged cylinder drain......then it froze and busted. You can see how that whole top section is pooched out further than the head.
What I do on any of the finger style coupler setups is this. Bolt the pump up snug. Insert driveshaft making sure nothing feels like it's in a bind. If it is....you have to unbolt the midshaft or bearing holder and re-center...OR shim the pump. When it feels like nothing is bound up then set...

I just measure the mm with a caliper. Od x id x width. Punch those dimensions in Ebay. I can usually find nice quality bearings new old stock for 1/2 price!
