i sanded (removed any gloss) with 36 grit length wise on the bottom of my ski and it noticeably changed the handling. groupk even recommends it somewhere on their site. in the past i have waxed the bottom of my skis and have always noticed that the porpoising got worse. there were tests done...
i have been having alot of fun with this also. i ride up next to a bluff or bridge pillar to see how high i can get. so far i have only made it about 15ft up. great way to piss people off. :grumble: :wave:
awesome thread!! i am having the same issues with my deep scoop. handles great at low speeds but when i try to fly up the river my ski does as yours....starts porpoising. put on my stock grate and while it doesnt hook up as well it does stop porpoising. i put on my friends riva scoop...
ya know....i was about to post something like "sissy!!" but after looking at your nose i decided not too. :bigeyes: how in the world does a throttle which is on the other side of the bars do that!!
welcome to the x!! i use to ride couches also.....i still do if you consider b1's couches. hang here for awhile and you will be wanting a standup. they are addictive. :biggthumpup:
bummer.....i talked with chuck a couple of weeks ago and he said he no longer was selling xft stuff.....so i guess the only route is directly through sergio.
How does everyone contact Sergio. Email is a little slow with him. I called a Brazilian number and had someone on the phone that did not know english. I am wanting a handlepole bracket but even when I ask about it in email I get my questions only half answered. There is a language barrier...
I have heard the "old school" thing many times. :biggrin: Actually i have heard most of those in the poll. Most of my friends wont touch my ski's. They might try for 30 seconds and if they cant just get up and ride off then they give up. The others that wont try are just intimidated by it...
Last night me and a friend of mine took apart his sj. He has bought a bb cylinder and we had to bore the top case to accept the bigger sleeves. While we were at it we opened up his carbs to see what his jetting was on his stock cylinder with b limited pipe. Low speed jets were 70's...stock...
