Just curious, why did you use the cavity out of an XTF hull rather than a junk square nose? Or was the XTF hull junk?

To follow up on this. I just ran to Applied Industrial (applied.com) with the printed out product details from McMaster's site. They'll have it in the store tomorrow morning. Figured this was a good alternative to anyone looking to get their stuff quicker and save on shipping.

thanks, i did it with an analog meter and it wasn't even 1.0 ohm's green to green. the others were under too. they are 25 year old coils, so not surprising. does anyone know where i can find a decently priced stator and / or stator flywheel combo? in the $50 range? i have put up...

ok , cool. right now I am pretty sure it is the charging coil. If he charges the battery it will run fine for a while , but when he goes to start it later it doesn't have the juice to turn it over.
