same as the 144 install so you still have to mod the hull and install a superjet pump shoe

If I had it to do over. It would be a Kiwa pump with a mag insert. Its the same money as to what I did and a lot less time.

Yamaha 144 W/superjet pump an intake glassed in. Prop not in yet but will be small like 12/19.. dry pipe and small cc. higher rpm X-SCREAMER .. Still in the making.. i should start a build thread..

A true 144 SJ pump: 13/17, bored reduction nozzle...It gets the job done.
I am pretty sure the only people with big pumps are on the forums or know someone through the forums. Most every other FX1 owner doesn't know about the pump swap and still running stock ones.

another local here started with a kawi 650 pump, but has since graduated to a kawi 750 6 vein mag....that needed a custom pump shoe

Hopefully I'll have one of each relatively soon. Keep a stock boat for others to learn on, and to remind myself what its like without a nice pump. Got the Kawi pump which rides nice and looks factory. Current project is a full pump cavity out of an xft hull. Right now its glassed in, just need to do a few more hull modifications, but probably won't be on the water until the mid/end of summer.

Just curious, why did you use the cavity out of an XTF hull rather than a junk square nose? Or was the XTF hull junk?

XFT was beyond repair. It belonged to a good friend of mine and he decided to cut it up and grab the bulkhead/scuppers out of it. He had tried to repair it many times and finally through in the towel. The hull had been around for a while, passed around and completely beat on by a few good riders who are tough on boats.
