Now is the time of year that we get the best waves on the west side of Lake Michigan. Spring and Summer it's rarely like those videos. This past sunday they were about chest high, but a little 'peaky'. Lots of surfers, kiteboarders, and windsurfers out there though.

Probably riding from Port Sheldon this weekend if any other West MI people are interested. Most likely Sunday afternoon. They are calling for 5-8' on Sat. and one forecast said 8-12' on Sunday.
Weather is supposed to be cold and nasty. Bring a dry suit. If it's raining or storming too bad I will probably not go.
Let me know if anyone has interest.

you might freeze off body parts, but if you don't have a wife or g/f they really aren't important.
Last weekend a couple of the guys were wearing wet suits. I used to double up my wet suit.

Chad,

I am planning on being out there all day sunday at Port Sheldon. Don't have my RN done yet but the surf should be huge. I have to work tomorow from 10 till 5 :sad2: But sunday i want to ride all day. I am sharing skis with my buddy dave (his ski, mostly my parts) while i wait for my RN setup to get finished.

I put new wrist seals on my new dry suit last night. I bought one off a member here, it just needed all new seals. I still have to do the neck and ankles later tonight. but i was out there at South haven last weekend and a drysuit may be a little overkill right now.

I used an oneil surf suit (3mil) all last fall. Keeps me pretty warm. YOu certainly won't freeze but the water is about 55 degrees. It is deceiving since when the waves are big the water seems colder and there is a wind chill factor, but i think the cold water gets mixed up more and feels colder then if it would be flat.

Hope to see some peeps out there Sunday.
