The barrel rolling thread.

I'm going to start this thread today, and I hope to have a completed flat water roll video to post in here soon. I went out today and hit it for a couple hours. Towards the end of the day, I got my fiance to video some flat water attempts in the bay. I tried a few, went in to check the camera to see what I was doing wrong or right, and of course it went dead after I watched the first couple. These are the best two attempts that were caught on film. I only had one other attempt that went much further than this. One time I made around far enough to keep my head out of the water and pull out of it.
There will be more to come. Unfortunately, I can't ride until probably middle of next week. Have to hit the road and make some cash to fill my tank again.
Enjoy! And feel free to post videos of yourself flat water rolling your X2's!

Yeah I could tell on the video's that I have of me pre hopping more, I got a little more air, so I got a little closer. Won't be long now! I can really tell that the speed is the key. I'm not hitting it near fast enough. I need more momentum to get the ski around faster, and I need to tuck up a little tighter. The video's helped a lot in seeing what I was doing wrong. I'll be back hopefully around this time next week, and there will be more updates!

I think the speed thing is getting the bounce off the water during the pre hop.

Get a helmet.....LOL

Looking real good though.

Thanks!
Yeah unfortunately I left my helmet at the ramp about a month ago, and I've been without. I'll get one soon. Before I hit the surf again, for sure. I want something with some face protection, like Pete's.

We'll talk. but you are flippin sweet! YOu guys need to invest in a decent camera. two double AAs will last longer then either of my riding bros. Come up here and we'll get er done.

i don't think you are hitting the wake right........or the best mind you. Come up to my lake. I'll fill your tanks and we ride my uncles boat wake.

so what would be a big key part in completing a barrell roll? x2addict are you using a finger trim? or anything else to help you? the ski has to have some big balls (along with the the rider) also huh to power through it, huh?

My main problem is setup timing. I'm still really trying hard to figure out a good setup wake for me to roll from. I do have a freestyle trim setup in the ski, but I don't use it all that much yet. I'm trying to get down the basic roll first, then I'll work with the trim. It definitely throws be better when I use it, I just don't have it down yet.
And yeah, the ski has pretty good power. It's a 780 w/b-pipe and dual carbs, and it hits pretty hard off the bottom.
I mainly need to get higher, go faster, and tuck tighter, and I'll have it. Just more practice.
