Yea I knew the X was his first......well after the F1 pro, right? But I didn't realize they shared bottoms. So the X is a "barrel" too?

I really love the X jet. I thought it was soooo cool the first time I saw that nose.

That square bottom came apart nice!!

I still owe Superjett for that hull. He paid 150 for it and decided not to use it. I then offered 200 for the bottom if he got the top off. Its not a hard job but its not that fun. Don't worry Darin, I have your cash

Ok Jeff...

I'm sure I'll get it in prepreg quarters eventually.

foam it but use polystyrene...then just reinforce the tray heavily...

some of those McMC 1/4" drains and you'l never go in there again!

link to those drains? i just drilled two small holes in the back of my tray and it leaked out a bunch of water. i'm thinking about digging into mine after daytona this year and polystyrene foaming it. wasn't sure what drains to use though.

I'm leaning toward no foam in the rear. I plan on foaming the top and glassing that in much like Superjett did on his hull. I will reinforce the sides with carbon and grind the ribs down. Since I am not running a water box I might just use some vacuum bagging material and incase some foam in the nose of the ski. That should be more than enough to float the ski and IF it ever gets wet I can just swap it out w/ no cutting of the hull. There are so many areas in the rear that could leak..... and do..... that I would just like to plan for the worst. This will primarily be a flatwater hull so it should be fine.

I need adequate flotation for sure. If it goes down in the river I am smoked!!!

Did some more work today. Patched the ride plate and laid some carbon over the top, made a panel to enclose the rear sections of the hull, trimmed the bulkhead and ground down the ribs. I need to get the rest of the glue off of the top deck so it sits down flush on the bottom deck.

The battery will be installed in the bulkhead with a WDK fiberglass battery tray.

when you make ur upper bulkhead, make it either have a flange on it or lay some extra glass on the inner hull where it fits. Side landings will flex the side except for where the bulkhead is. If the bulkhead is too skinny it will crack infront and right behind the bulkhead on the upper deck. I found out the hard way

Im going to make a template and transfer it onto a pre-made glass panel. It will then be glassed to the upperdeck on both sides before I foam the top. When I put the top onto the bottom the bulkhead will be glassed at all the seams

I have it under control now. I'm not building a new ski. I am repairing my current ski. Notice that I did not buy a new ride plate.....i fixed my current plate. Sold off all my extra stuff to get down to this one hull and one motor combo. I have learned allot from all my different motor and hull builds over the years. This is not going to be a show piece

Did you end up selling the F1Pro?

yes, sold the f1PRO, 66e w/ PFP exhaust, full spectrum carbs and other misc stuff. Used all that money to open my Roth IRA, establish a rainy day fund, and make scheduled repairs on my jeep. When I sold the full specs I used those funds to buy a set of sbn 46mm mikuni's, stock superjet pump and glassing material.

Sold the WDK steering system and am switching to a RRP steering with medium rise bars b/c my back fatigues quickly. Used those funds and remaining funds from other sales to make that purchase.

I might be using some funds to reinvest in a small production run of parts (but I'm not saying what until I test them). I am working with another company and the CAD files look very promising. And yes, those parts will be on this build.

Foam!!! ....dude, you have done more builds than anyone I know!

The thing I don't like about foam is sooner or later it will get wet. Then I have to tear the hull down to fix it. It will have foam, just not in the back. I don't want the headache of having that sort of down time anymore.

The engine will not be anything fancy either. Stock stroke Lamey pv with b-pipe, MSD enhancer and tbm flywheel. Switching from full spec 49's to SBN 46's w/ stock fuel pumps. I will loose some performance but the 49's were just a little too big IMO. The SBN 46's will make it idle better with the sacrifice of explosive midrange power. If I don't like them I still have a set of 48mm Powerbomb's I can throw on there.

amen... they were made to be ridden... not waxed....

mine has nasty sludge all over the outside from the crap brown saltwater we ride in... but the motor stays crc'd and plugs get changed.

the day i wax it is the day it will fall apart.
