I'd say let him, be interesting to see what shows up. I'd do a Skat at the same time though for comparison.

The Skat isn't perfect either so i would bet it is a draw on all counts; quality, fit, cost and delivery time.

That's not a bad weight for a full stainless pump either.

For seawater (if you forget the weight)
the solas magnum + wsm housing with replaceable plastic wear ring is the way to go .
make last your impeller forever .
my 2 cents .

just received these today

Looks to be of very nice quality! took a bit of time to complete the order, but in the end the final product was worth the wait. Hopefully it'll perform as good as it looks

there are a few rough edges that need to be smoothed out, and a few sharp edges that need to be rounded off.....but it looks like a hi quality piece!

Well aren't you a proud father ! ......... better have enough to feed them ........ I hear they eat a lot.

the welds are not as clean as skats, the veins not ground at the front to a point and it sounds as if they are a little heavier??? Just pointing out comparisons, While were at it, how long did it take and what is the to the door cost?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If you prefer this setup, then use SBT liner instead of WSM. Better plastic IMO.

comparison by cost , no way, if these are $1350 they kill the cost of a skat!!!!!

The Skat pump comes with impeller, bearings & seals, cone, and a usable shaft.
I think even buying all that stuff, the Maxx pump is still cheaper - just not that much cheaper.

Max pump comes with cone . I have a 144 on the way . Will put Hybrid ceramic bearings in it anyway so bearings dont matter . Got lots of props already . Ordered this one without driveshaft .

Still needs a special driveshaft for the setback mag pumps and they require a wider double row front bearing due to the shorter vane section.

I would image the shipping cost from Asia is quite expensive too.

$1260 to the front porch for pump . Will pick up another fresh driveshaft soon .

One of the things I prefer about the Kaw pumps is you dont have to have the driveshaft with each one . And there is no midshaft to deal with . I just sheared an SBT midshaft into 2 pieces . Dasa power .

Why are you running an SBT component on a DASA/mag driveline?
